It is that time of year where the weather warms up so it is the perfect time to give your sheepskin products a refresh, but how do we wash sheepskin products safely?

Our team always recommend you use our specially formulated cleaners, these have been vigorously tested to ensure they contain the perfect ingredients to help keep your sheepskin product in top condition – without the use of harsh chemicals.

If you plan to pack away that beloved woolly jumper until the winter, it is always worth giving it a once over beforehand to see if it needs a spring clean, wool is naturally antibacterial and resistant to dirt but occasionally a freshen up is required.

It is recommended you wash your garment now, whilst the weather warms up so when those bitterly cold winter months arrive, you’ll have your jumper ready to go.

It is also the perfect time to give your sheepskin rug a spring clean, the milder days mean that it won’t take as long to dry and you can then enjoy your sheepskin whilst in the garden, perhaps for alfresco dining or on your stool at the potting bench!

Introducing Our Best Selling Cleaning Products

Prior to WASHING, we always recommend you give your sheepskin a really good brush with one of our ‘Slicker Brushes’ they are extremely effective at removing dirt and debris from the wool fibres without damaging the wool.

You’ll notice some wool does come away as you brush, this is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Our brushes are designed to get deep into the pile and lift any matting. If you have a large sheepskin rug, we have a large brush for this.

If your sheepskin is clumped together and particularly matted, you’ll notice how beautifully the wool separates and lifts as you work your way through it, our brushes are so effective they often leave sheepskin rugs looking brand new so you never know, it might not actually need a wash after all!
